OUR MISSION

The Platoon 541 support group is an ad hoc small group of friends, horrified by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. We had a connection; one of us, Artem, is Ukrainian by birth and his close friend was serving in their army. Reaching out, we wondered what we could do to help them in this season of need. First, we “adopted” this platoon giving them the moniker Platoon 541 and, after raising nearly $20,000 (which was used to send body armor, drones etc.to the battlefront), we decided a local Deschutes county fundraising event was in order. More could be done: more needed to be done. This website grew out of that effort. A bake sale didn’t seem like to fit the bill but a benefit dinner did.

Working closely with Laura Bliss, the owner of the Jackalope Grill in downtown Bend, (whose gracious help made this possible), we decided on a dinner featuring typical Ukrainian dishes. Our fundraising dinner is scheduled for Sunday, December 11. Join us for a festive evening in support a great cause.
